Summer Internships

Professional internships run the gamut. From stage managing, set design/building, assisting with costume, prop, sound, and lighting designing, working as backstage crew, or front of house.

 

Compass Rose Theater is a small, intimate professional company that allows us to actively engage our interns and volunteers to experience high-quality arts programming. Compass Rose provides first-hand opportunities to learn how a show is produced, from behind the scenes. Through this approach, volunteers gain knowledge and skills that will serve them in other areas and throughout their lives, such as listening and responding, public speaking, discipline, and teamwork. Other life skills learned are in managing, working as a team, working under a deadline, and devising quick resolutions. There are simply no other jobs that are quite like working in a theater.
