We Support Performing Arts Programs
Over the years, Compass Rose Theater has partnered with private and public schools throughout Maryland.
Our experienced teachers and directors serve Anne Arundel County Public Schools by teaching after-school classes at Bates Middle School in Annapolis. Bates and Brooklyn Park also attend our shows (they are performing arts schools). We teach during an extended-day program one day a week for students enrolled in the Apex Arts program. The extended day program runs all year, and also offers an introduction for upcoming students during Summer Bridge. Students in Apex can also sign up for scheduled field trips to see our shows throughout the season. Family members of Apex students receive student-priced tickets to all performances at Compass Rose Theater with a valid ID.
Compass Rose Theater works with any interested schools throughout the WDC/Baltimore area to bring quality theatrical presentations and classes to their facility. We work with schools to identify grants to support arts programming. We most recently brought theater to two Title I schools without theater programs.
